The Nutrition Data Gap working group exists to identify areas where GODAN partners could focus on to improve the availability, quality, and application of global nutrition open data to advance global nutrition by filling critical data gaps. Deliverables for announcement at the 2016 GODAN Summit (September 2016). The scope of the working group is to inform global policies, capacity building, and/or technical improvements (e.g. data releases, data improvements, improved data use).
Approved on 30 October 2015:
- Consensus for identifying the 2015/2014 Global Nutrition Reports (GNRs) as the primary expert source informing the direction of what nutrition data gaps are most critical and thus will direct the actions of this working group.
- Consensus to support a focus on opening data to fill data gaps specific to solving global challenges: anemia, overweight and obesity, wasting, and low birth weight as identified in the GNRs.
